Counselling is a collaborative process with its foundation set in having a strong therapeutic relationship with the client at its heart. Everyone should have the chance to tell their story and be heard. Counselling affords that opportunity; I believe that we all know how to heal, given the right support and environment. Our sessions will help you discover ways to change unwanted patterns and behaviours and enable you to move forwards. I believe our past experiences are intrinsically linked to our values, beliefs, expectations, behaviours, and views of ourselves today.
The messages we received about ourselves and our place in the world from caregivers and those in authority have a significant impact on how we develop emotionally. I will guide and support you while you learn to give yourself new messages, make positive changes in your belief systems, and change negative patterns. I create a supportive, confidential environment fostering an inquiry into a deeper understanding of oneself and ones experiences.
My approach is integrative and adapted to suit your needs at that moment. While training, I specialised in Transactional Analysis, but also work with Gestalt, CBT, psychodynamic, and many other theories. I lean towards engaging with our spirituality and understanding how the energy that surrounds us affects us. I feel very strongly about supporting people through the challenges life can bring.
