PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, BSc MSc Palliative care nursing, MBACP (Registered)
My background of many years’ experience in palliative care nursing directed me to qualify and practice as a person- centred integrative counsellor/ psychotherapist with an interest in loss, grief and bereavement and the complex issues we feel.
I have worked for Cruse bereavement as a volunteer since 2017 and a local GP surgery supporting patients with symptoms of loss, grief and bereavement and other issues that might be challenging to self-esteem or, causing symptoms of mental and physical stress: headaches, poor sleep, irritability, social isolation.
Sometimes we can just feel overwhelmed with difficult emotions that might not be related to any specific event and feel powerless to change them.
We will explore your internal thoughts and feelings and personal challenges using an integration of approaches suitable for you personally. My central focus is to offer a space and time that is welcoming, judgement-free, professional and safe, to work with the many different and diverse reasons why people may choose to talk with a therapist.
What could I help you with? Anxiety, loss, grief and bereavement, traumatic death, cancer, health-related issues, self-esteem issues, spirituality, stress, work related issues, past experiences.
Types of therapy : Humanistic Person Centred approach, Gestalt, creativity, existential philosophy.
How do I deliver? Long term face to face work, short term face to face, telephone counselling short term, also online counselling available on request.
