Life can throw us many challenges. The build-up of everyday stresses and disappointments, or the ability to cope with sadness and pain may at times affect our self-esteem and confidence levels. We may have the resilience to work though issues on our own, or perhaps we have the support mechanism of friends or family. However, there may be times when we need support additional to what we already have in place, which is when we may seek the help of a counsellor.
Finding the right counsellor can be a daunting task. You need to feel comfortable with and be able to trust whoever you choose to accompany you on your journey. Whatever challenges you are experiencing, you don't have to go through them alone.
I am a qualified Humanistic and EMDR counsellor offering a safe, accepting, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about whatever may be bothering you. I offer one-to-one therapeutic support on a short, medium or long-term basis for clients of all ages ranging from early adolescence to adults.
I work with a diverse range of issues such as academic stress, anger, anxiety, bereavement, body issues, bullying, depression, divorce and separation, domestic abuse, eating disorders, emotional abuse, gender questioning and uncertainty, identity crisis, existential angst, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, relationship issues, self-harm, separation and loss, sexual abuse, sexuality, social anxiety, substance misuse, suicidal ideation and trauma. However, you don't have to be experiencing any of these issues to speak with me as perhaps you may be struggling with something else entirely.
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session where you can meet with me to decide if I am the right person to work with you and discuss what expectations you may have about counselling. If you decide that you don't want to contract to sessions with me, there is no obligation or pressure to continue. However, if you do decide you would like to continue, we can agree on a mutually convenient day and time to work together and on the number of sessions you would like.
