Do you often feel sad, anxious or depressed and experience relationship problems in that you feel rejected and/or abandoned by other people? Perhaps you are also aware that you often feel negative about yourself and/or other people, feeling critical of yourself or believing that others are critical of you?

Perhaps you will have developed ways of coping which may have resulted in you finding it difficult to trust, or getting into relationships which are unsatisfactory and seem to confirm to you that you are likely to be rejected or abandoned.

These examples of faulty self-beliefs are often learnt from childhood experiences and may have been with you for many years leaving you feeling overwhelmed with difficult emotions which you do not understand.

I am a sensitive and empathic therapist offering a non-judgemental and calming place for you to experience CAT therapy by exploring the way in which you relate to other people and to yourself. My aim will always be to empower you to discover and celebrate your 'good enough' self.

I am a qualified CAT Therapist and have been working for the NHS and working privately for the past 10 years. I have gained considerable experience in a variety of complex mental health issues including personality disorder, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.

I originally qualified in Psychodynamic Therapy in 1998; I also gained a diploma in Addiction Counselling in 2003. My interest in CAT has developed because it has at its heart Psychodynamic Theory and Cognitive Psychology. Its principle ideas are that our childhood experiences often influence our thinking, the way we act and how we relate to both ourselves and other people.

CAT is a time limited therapy. 16 sessions is an average but, under some circumstances, it can be 24 sessions. Occasionally therapy can be longer term.

I  am available on Mondays 9-6pm and from February 2019 I will also be available on Thursdays from 9-6pm .

Please email or phone me to arrange an assessment session.
