Psychotherapy in its original Greek means 'care of the soul'.
'What is soul?' you may ask. Some say soul has to do with the way we make sense of life. We often feel ashamed of the symptoms of psychological distress. What if we thought of our 'psychopathology' as our soul's suffering (psyche's pathos) trying to find [removed]logos)?
My training is integrative and transpersonal. I see counselling as a meaning-making craft where we are exploring together to make sense of your pain, heart-ache and longing. I work with what arises in the room, paying attention to what is happening in the body and in images or dreams. I am registered with BACP and UKCP and have many years experience of working with anxiety and depression in the NHS and elsewhere, both short term and longer term.
