Psychologist in Bath providing personalised Therapy
Welcome to my page.
I am an experienced Psychologist with a warm and patient approach, offering individual therapy in Bath. Many of the people that I have worked with have reported feeling comfortable with me, which has allowed them to open up about their most troubling thoughts and feelings. I have fifteen years of experience working with people with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, and trauma.
In my work with people, I often draw from a type of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT (pronounced as the word “act”) is an evidence-based approach which is helpful for many difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low mood, and depression. ACT can help people to make meaningful changes in their lives, as well as develop acceptance and self-compassion for what can not be changed.
I also offer Trauma-Informed Therapy, which is an effective form of therapy for people who have experienced developmental trauma. Developmental trauma is what happens when someone is exposed to adverse conditions (such as early loss, emotional neglect or feeling unsafe) over a prolonged period of time, during childhood or adolescence. Trauma Therapy can help people to make sense of their difficulties, build their resources, and reconnect with their wellbeing.
Here are some of the difficulties I can help with:
The initial meeting gives us the chance to talk about what you are looking for, and to see whether I can help. It would give you a sense of how I work, with the opportunity to ask any questions.
How long would we work together?
My aim would be to work with you for as long as is helpful to you. I provide both short-term and long-term therapy.
If you decide to begin therapy, we would agree to meet for six sessions. We would then have a review on session six to see whether you would like to continue. There would be regular check-ins to ensure that you are finding the sessions helpful. Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Please visit my website for information about the fees for the initial meeting, and for weekly sessions.
I have fifteen years experience working with a wide range of people, providing individual and group-based therapy. I originally trained as a Psychologist at the University of Exeter. Since qualifying, I have continued to work within the NHS alongside my private practice.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, and low self-esteem. Much of my experience has involved working with people who have had difficulties in relation to early trauma and/or emotional neglect. My training background means my work is influenced by Attachment Theory, the neuroscience of emotions, and the impact of trauma and neglect.
Through my own personal journey, as well as my growing interest in the healing powers of mindfulness, I decided to begin training in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon. Core Process Psychotherapy is the original Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy in the UK. I maintain my own mindfulness practice, which is an important part of my life and wellbeing.
My Qualifications and Accreditations

I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and follow their ethical framework of good practice.
