You might be feeling daunted about reaching out and starting to talk about your emotional life. I promise to respond to you with empathy, warmth and acceptance and absolutely without judgement.
Challenging events or relationships might have left you feeling anxious or depressed, self critical or angry. Sometimes it’s easy to see where those feelings have come from – you’ve lost a loved one, a key relationship has broken down or you are finding your job or parenting responsibilities stressful. Sometimes it’s harder to work out what’s going on that’s making you feel so low or down on yourself.
As a professionally trained and qualified psychotherapist/counsellor, I will work to build a therapeutic relationship with you that research shows is the key to effective therapy.
Being ‘person centred’ means that I don’t claim to be a guru with all the answers or tell you what you should do. We would work in partnership together to create insights into your feelings, behaviour and choices. These insights will help you to understand and accept yourself better, which will in turn build your emotional resilience and self-confidence.
For my Masters in Counselling I chose to research how people make decisions about their fertility. I am passionate about providing an agenda-free, supportive space for clients who are undergoing the isolating and emotionally, physically and financially draining experience of infertility.
I hold a Masters in Counselling, a Post-graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and a Postgraduate Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling Skills from the University of East Anglia.
I know how important it is to find the right therapist to work with, so I offer an initial hour’s session for £20 to see if I am the right fit.
