Dr Sarah Hardy is a qualified Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children, young people and their families for many years. As well as working independently, she continues to work part-time with children and young people who are experiencing a variety of behavioural, emotional and psychological difficulties within the NHS (CAMHS).
Dr Hardy has particular expertise working with children who are in care, fostered or adopted. Every child or young person is unique and it is essential to gain an understanding of the possible cause and reason for the difficulty by carrying out an assessment. This may include formal psychometric assessment. Following this, an initial formulation will be considered to understand and think about the cause of the difficulty, and how to create a positive change.
As well as being trained in therapies such as behavioural, cognitive, psychodynamic and systemic, Dr Hardy has also had training in specific attachment and relationship related models including Theraplay®, Parent-Child Game and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
Dr Hardy provides consultation and supervision to other professionals. For more information please contact her by e-mail/telephone.
