For many of us today, life can be demanding, stressful and often hectic, with little time left for relaxation. I believe it is important we make time to simply be ‘still’, breathe and receive. to allow ourselves freely and without guilt to relish a sense of uninterrupted calm, self-healing & joy, a space for personal peace, tranquillity and growth, away from distractions such as mobile phones, emails and work. With such a commitment to ourselves, it is possible to achieve balance, transformation and optimum physical, mental & emotional well-being.
I have been a practising therapist for over seven years, working with people from all walks of life, age ranges, varying medical, physical and/or psychological issues. For 3 years (2006-2009) I volunteered part-time as a complementary therapist supporting patients and their loved ones in the care of the Palliative Care Team at Weston Hospice. It was a tremendous honour and privilege to work therapeutically with the many incredibly brave people I met there as well as working with the team members who shared their knowledge and experience with me. I am eternally grateful to them all for what they each taught me, for their strength & inspiration, their courage & honesty. I thank them all for enriching my life, knowledge, experience and therapeutic practice with what they each shared with me.
Maternity Reflexology: In 2010 I completed Susanne Enzer’s post-graduate Maternity Reflexology training (Parts 1 & 2) and received my certificate and registration. Quite different to general reflexology, this branch of reflexology may benefit adolescents, women and men and offers specialised techniques & therapeutic support for hormonal problems (e.g. PMS/PMT, menopausal symptoms), pre-conception, fertility issues, miscarriage/loss, throughout pregnancy (relieving many minor ailments), labour priming (naturally encouraging labour), labour & birthing, post-natal issues & newborn baby care. I am part of the Bath Fertility, Pregnancy and Parenting Team that is based at the Practice Rooms, see our website for more information.
In my experience, many of the techniques applied by Maternity Reflexologists can also be included in General Reflexology, Aromatherapy & Massage treatments, which means it is possible for conditions such as oedema and sciatica to be treated quite effectively as well as providing some support for emotional and psychological issues.
I offer daytime, evening appointments and some Saturdays. I am also happy to treat you at home if you have mobility issues or you are pregnant and unable to attend the The Practice Rooms. Please feel free to contact me so that we can discuss the options I can make available to you.
My promise to you is that I will always work ethically with you, at a pace you can cope with, without judgement or pressure. It would be a privilege to help you realise improvement to your overall health and restore balance to your whole being. I thank you for taking the time to read my profile and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
