I am an experienced Person-Centred/Integrative Counsellor, which means that I draw upon a range of theoretical backgrounds to find an approach that works for you personally.
I’d like to help you explore the difficulties that you are experiencing and to support you in identifying and putting in place the changes you want to make in your life. If you are feeling confused, sad, despairing or lost and don’t know why, I can work with you on drawing out the deeper causes of that unhappiness and then looking to the future.
I understand that counselling can feel daunting and often hard work, but it can also be incredibly enlightening and liberating. I’ve seen the huge difference that counselling can make to people’s lives, often within just a few weeks of being deeply listened to and understood. Holding issues to the light and talking them through with a counsellor can enable you to find a way forward, and to find and understand your true self.
I won’t judge you. I won’t tell you what to feel or what to think. I won’t tell you what to do. You will have the space and time to speak freely and you will be truly heard, respected and valued. You’ll set the pace and focus of our time together. My place is to support you, to offer kindness, acceptance, warmth, honesty, my training and experience, sometimes a challenge, and sometimes a sense of humour. If appropriate, I am also able to teach meditation, relaxation and breathing techniques for coping with anxiety, panic or stress.
I can offer you a confidential sounding board in a relaxed and welcoming environment and a flexible approach.
