Albert Sobilo
I am an integrative counsellor working with adults who are navigating grief, loss, illness, and significant life transitions. I offer a thoughtful, relational space where experiences that feel difficult to carry alone can be explored at a pace that feels steady and respectful.
Grief and bereavement are central areas of my work. This may include loss following death, anticipatory grief when someone you love is seriously ill, or the quieter forms of loss that accompany changes in health, identity, relationships, work, or belonging. I do not see grief as something to be fixed or rushed, but as a deeply human response that deserves time, care, and understanding.
My approach is integrative, grounded in person-centred and existential perspectives, and informed by attachment-aware practice and elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Above all, I value the therapeutic relationship itself. I aim to offer a calm, non-judgemental presence where complexity is welcomed rather than simplified.
Alongside private practice, I have experience supporting people in hospice and bereavement settings, and I continue to volunteer as an end-of-life companion. I also co-facilitate community Death Cafés, creating spaces where conversations about dying, loss, and meaning can take place openly and respectfully. These experiences have shaped a grief-literate way of working that honours both vulnerability and dignity.
Clients often come to me when they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or at a crossroads. Some are carrying anxiety or low mood linked to loss; others are trying to make sense of changes that have unsettled their sense of self or direction. Therapy can offer space to pause, reflect, and begin to understand what this period of life is asking of you.
