Alessandro D'Accordi

I specialise in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. My approach includes exploring attachment styles and the external factors that may be limiting your sense of fulfilment. Whether you’re just considering therapy or ready to begin, you can choose between short-term therapy (14 sessions for individuals, 10 for couples) or open-ended therapy—whichever best suits your needs.

About Me: I am a qualified, UKCP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. I am also an Accredited Registrant with the NCPS. I completed a three-year diploma at the Metanoia Institute, where I am currently enrolled in the last year of an MSc in Psychotherapy. My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, with a foundation in Transactional Analysis (TA).

How I Work: I aim to provde an empathic, non-judgmental, and anti-oppressive space where I seek to understand your unique experiences. Together, we will explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to deepen your self-awareness and open up new possibilities for growth. At times, I may directly challenge unhelpful patterns to support positive change. Throughout our work, I will provide emotional support as you process difficult experiences—past or present—helping you cultivate self-acceptance and foster healing along the way.

My professional experiences and background: I have gained valuable experience through placements with organisations such as MCPS, ELOP, and Terrence Higgins Trust, working with both individual and couples clients from diverse backgrounds. Alongside addressing a wide range of issues, I bring a background in sexual health and HIV research, which enables me to support clients experiencing psychosexual or relationship difficulties, as well as the unique emotional and psychological challenges related to these areas.

To deepen my clinical skills, I undertook additional training to work with clients with complex needs during a placement at the Cassel Psychiatric Hospital, and I currently work in a crisis centre providing psychological support in acute situations.

Before training as a therapist, my academic background was in the humanities and social sciences. I hold a BA in Languages and Linguistics (Arabic) and an MSc in Political Science with a decolonial focus, and I have also worked and volunteered within the humanitarian sector.

Getting Started: We can begin with a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs. During this time, I’ll ask a few questions, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions of your own and determine if we’re a good fit for working together. If we decide to proceed, our first session will consist of an assessment to gain a better understanding of your experiences and goals.

Fees: My fees are £65 for individual sessions (50 minutes) and £90 for couple sessions (60 minutes). If you have any questions or would like to arrange your consultation, please feel free to get in touch.

Online and/or telephone appointments are available.
