I am a qualified Play Therapist with over 10 years’ experience working as a primary school teacher, bringing a deep understanding of child development, learning, and emotional wellbeing into my therapeutic practice. I offer a warm, safe and welcoming space where children can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace through the natural language of play.

I work in a holistic way, supporting the whole child–emotionally, socially, and developmentally–recognising that behaviour is often a form of communication and that each child’s experience of the world is unique. My approach is creative, flexible, and child-led. I draw on a range of play-based and expressive therapies, allowing children to use toys, art, storytelling, movement, and imaginative play to communicate what may feel difficult to put into words. I follow the child’s lead, building a trusting therapeutic relationship where they can feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgement.

Alongside my therapeutic training, my background in education gives me a strong foundation in understanding the school environment and the pressures children may experience within it. This helps me to support children not only with their emotional wellbeing, but also with their confidence, relationships, and ability to engage in learning. I work in a neuro-affirmative way, valuing and respecting each child’s individual way of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world. Rather than focusing on “fixing” behaviour, I aim to understand it, supporting children to feel safe in who they are while developing strategies that work for them. I am particularly mindful of sensory needs, communication differences, and the importance of adapting the therapeutic space to suit each child.

I believe that healing and growth happen within safe, trusting relationships. My aim is to provide a consistent, supportive presence where children can make sense of their experiences, build emotional resilience, and develop a stronger sense of self.

I work closely with parents and carers where appropriate, recognising the importance of connection between home, school, and therapy in supporting lasting change. Together, we can help children feel more secure, understood, and confident in navigating their world. At the heart of my practice is a belief in each child’s innate capacity for growth when given the right conditions–safety, acceptance, and space to be themselves.
