Anna Nizio
I believe therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and our experiences. I offer a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever brings you to therapy at a pace that feels right for you. I am an ADMP UK-registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist with experience working within the NHS, educational settings and charities, and currently provide psychotherapeutic support in schools alongside my private practice.
In my work, I have supported people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm and low self-esteem, as well as those facing challenges related to identity, family and relationships, or the impact of difficult or traumatic experiences.
My approach is creative and relational, grounded in curiosity, compassion and respect for your individual experience. We will work together to find an approach that feels right for you. This might involve conversation, movement, metaphor or drawing, depending on what feels most helpful. There is never any expectation to dance or be artistic – these are simply different ways of exploring thoughts, feelings and experiences when words alone don’t quite capture them.
My practice is informed by an interest in how our experiences are held in the body, and how we can begin to reconnect with a sense of safety, agency and expression at a pace that feels manageable.
I welcome neurodivergent clients and those exploring questions of identity and belonging. I aim to offer a culturally sensitive and LGBTQ+ affirming space where differences are respected and valued. Having lived and trained across different cultural contexts, I am aware of how identity, migration and belonging can shape the way we experience ourselves and relate to others.
My aim is to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, and to help you find ways of relating to yourself and others with greater clarity, self-compassion and choice.
