Brendan Shelly
I am an experienced therapist and have worked in the mental health field for over 30 years. I have a broad holistic knowledge base and great clinical skills. I am ADOS trained to work with people who Neuro-divergent. I work with adults, young people, couples and families.
I am curious about people’s lives, about what makes them unique as well as what they struggle with. I am flexible, drawing on skills from a number of therapeutic approaches. I am adept at face to face as well as virtual modes of engagement. Working in the statutory sector for most of my working life I have benefitted from regular supervision, appraisals and statutory training.
Qualifications
- I am an accredited member of the BACP.
- I have an advanced diploma in integrated counselling from CPPD, as well as many years training at the Metanoia institute.
- I have a diploma in social work from UEL as well as a degree in Social work from the Robert Gordon University. I have an Advanced diploma in Mental health practice from the Tavistock and Portman Clinic.
- I completed intermediate level training in Systemic practice from AFT (Association for Family Therapy). I qualified as an ADOS assessor and have been part of the ASD clinic for a number of years. I have also completed DBT training.
- I am a qualified EMDR Therapist, trained by Dr Michael Patterson OBE, of EMDR Masterclass.
