Life can present us with unexpected and difficult challenges. Talking therapy provides a safe space to process and work through your feelings. I understand that beginning therapy may feel daunting, but I offer a calm space with empathy, open-mindedness, and understanding. I will work at your pace to guide you through your journey. I can offer a variety of creative techniques if it may feel difficult to articulate feelings. I’m interested in you, your experiences, and your goals. I work with a range of issues, but specialise in sexual trauma work.

I have worked in the domestic/sexual abuse sector for nearly 20 years, supporting both adults and children before qualifying as a counsellor. I have spent the last 10 years working for a sexual violence agency in an advocacy role, before qualifying as a counsellor. I also work as a diploma assessor for sexual violence advocates. I deliver external training on sexual trauma to organisations, including local universities and the British Transport Police.

As a therapist, I can support those who may be experiencing trauma symptoms or who may want to process abuse they have experienced. I work integratively, using two main models. I use the person-centered theory, which offers acceptance, honesty and positivity to guide you, the expert on your life, to achieve your goals. l also work with the psychodynamic approach, which helps to understand how feelings and behaviour are shaped by our past experiences. I have a warm and non-judgmental approach and will work with what feels right for you.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation to answer any questions and discuss if my approach is right for you. I’m happy to provide you with the information you need to decide if this is the right therapy for you.
