David Jackson
As a person, I’m naturally curious, open, and deeply interested in people. I enjoy understanding how others think, feel, and make sense of their experiences, and I bring that into the therapy room in a way that feels grounded and easy to connect with. I value honesty, warmth, and creating a space where things can be talked about openly.
I am a registered and accredited member of the BACP I have a diploma in Integrative Therapy and a further diploma in Compulsive Sexual Behaviour (sex addiction, porn addiction etc) from the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS).
In the therapy room, I bring a steady, calm presence alongside a sense of humour, which I use carefully to help ease tension when it feels right. I aim to create an environment that feels real and supportive, where people do not have to present a polished version of themselves. My passions in therapy centre on helping people make sense of their lives in a way that feels meaningful and authentic. I am particularly interested in the stories people carry about themselves, their relationships, and their sense of identity. Creativity is an important part of how I work, whether that is thinking about things from a different angle, using imagination, or finding new ways to express and understand what is going on.
I have a strong interest in working with themes around sex and sexuality, approaching these areas in a way that is open, respectful, and free from judgement. I also have an interest in performance anxiety, whether in academic, professional, or personal contexts, supporting people to understand the pressures they experience and move towards a more settled and confident way of being.
In our sessions, we create a space where you can speak openly and take things at your own pace. We focus on what feels most important to you, whether that is something immediate or something that has been sitting in the background for a while. We work by exploring your experiences and the patterns that show up in your life, gently making sense of them together. At times, we may approach things creatively, looking at situations from a different angle or finding new ways to put words to what you are feeling. We keep the space grounded and real. There is room for honesty, for not knowing, and sometimes for a bit of humour when it helps. You do not need to filter or present yourself in a particular way. We can also include areas such as performance anxiety, relationships, and sexuality, approaching these in an open and straightforward way. The aim is to help you feel more clear, more settled, and more able to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
