Dean Palmer
I’m Dean Palmer, a UKCP-registered integrative psychotherapist, BACP-registered counsellor and executive coach. I offer a calm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening in your life with honesty, depth and care. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, questions around identity or sexuality, and significant life transitions. Many of the people I support appear capable and successful on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted or caught in patterns they cannot easily change.
My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to you. As an integrative therapist, I draw on psychodynamic and relational therapy, person-centred and trauma-informed approaches, existential thinking and, where helpful, coaching. We will work together to understand how past experiences and established patterns may be influencing how you think, feel and relate today. This can help you develop greater self-awareness, resilience and self-compassion, make clearer choices and create lasting, meaningful change.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working as a television executive and producer in demanding corporate and freelance environments. This gives me a practical understanding of ambition, performance, leadership, identity and the challenge of balancing professional pressure with personal life. Alongside my private practice, I work as an affiliate executive coach with Morgan Philips, supporting clients with workplace challenges, career transitions and difficult organisational dynamics.
I hold an MSc with Distinction and a Clinical Diploma in Psychotherapy, as well as a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, from the Metanoia Institute. I also hold a Business Coaching Certificate from the Møller Institute at Churchill College, University of Cambridge.
