You might be here because you are looking for some help for your worrying, or you’re often feeling self-conscious or shy. Perhaps you’re experiencing panic or you have a phobia or trauma you want to overcome. Maybe you’re feeling down or depressed, or experiencing low self-esteem. Or you might be looking for a confidential, non-judgemental, uninterrupted space to make sense of things.

I am a Chartered Psychologist and Registered Clinical Psychologist based in Norwich. I specialise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and am BABCP accredited. Additionally, I have training in various other evidence based therapies including Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I incorporate aspects of these therapies into my sessions. I also offer supervision, CTS-R rating and therapy for therapists.

If you are thinking of booking an appointment, it might be useful to know a few things about me and my style of therapy.

  • I understand that it can be daunting to begin therapy. I aim to help you feel at ease and safe and to provide a warm and trusting relationship.
  • However, therapy is often hard work. If change was easy, you would have already done it. Sometimes, in order to break unhelpful patterns, you may need to do something a little challenging.
  • I work collaboratively, as I believe we are both experts – I have some expertise from my experience and training, and you are an expert in your life, your emotions and your behaviour. Together, we can work out the best way to help you.
  • Negative emotions can be helpful at times of imminent danger or threat. However, sometimes these emotions can be overwhelming, psychological problems can emerge, and people can become stuck in vicious cycles. I will work with you to learn to manage these emotions and to live a more stable and fulfilling life.

In addition to my private practice, I work in the NHS and at the UEA on the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology. I have over 19 years experience in health services. I am registered with many health insurance companies, and can also offer sessions via Skype. Please email me to discuss your requirements. Therapy sessions are £100 and last for 50 minutes.

  • Registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Accredited CBT Therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies
