I’m Emily, a qualified existential-integrative psychotherapist and counsellor (MUPCA), and a UKCP accredited psychotherapist. I work one-to-one with adults, offering both time-limited and longer-term therapy in person and online. People come to see me for many reasons, including feeling anxious, low, or unsettled; noticing familiar patterns in relationships; struggling with self-criticism or coping strategies that no longer feel helpful; or navigating loss, change, and transitions that can leave life feeling empty or overwhelming.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a warm, open, and non-judgemental space to reflect with someone else, to feel listened to, engaged with, and genuinely heard. My work is informed by existential thinking, which means we consider the realities of being human: the limitations we live with, the fears we face, and the responsibility that can come with living your life. Together, we explore questions of meaning, values, and direction. Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable emotions such as anxiety, we take time to understand what they may be communicating and how they connect to your life and circumstances. We may also explore how earlier experiences and relationships continue to shape the present, or how social and cultural expectations influence the way you see yourself and the world.
I work in a collaborative and engaged way and adapt my approach to suit your needs. Alongside existential therapy, I draw on psychodynamic and person-centred ways of working, allowing the therapy to remain flexible and responsive to your needs. I am warm and supportive in the work, while also being honest and direct, offering reflection and gentle challenge to help deepen awareness and create space for change.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re unsure what you need or whether therapy will help. If you would like to explore whether working together feels right, or if you have any questions about the process, please get in touch to arrange a free 15-minute call or video call.
