About Herbal Medicine:
Herbal medicine is the use of plants as medicines. Plants contain powerful compounds that can be utilised as medicine. Modern Herbal Medicine uses the most up-to-date research to inform its practice and combines medical knowledge with the scientific understanding of plant medicines. Medical herbalists are trained to prescribe medicinal plants to treat health concerns. They can safely prescribe herbal remedies that can be taken alongside other medications and treatments. Herbal medicine is prescribed in various forms, including teas, tinctures, capsules and topical applications such as creams. Alongside prescribing herbal medicine, Medical Herbalists often recommend lifestyle and dietary changes to further support health. Medical Herbalists take a holistic approach to healthcare, aiming to identify and address the underlying causes of illness and tailor treatment to each patient’s individual needs, rather than focusing solely on symptom management.
