Harrie Frost

Are you looking for a hands-on remedial therapy that is highly effective whilst being gentle and deeply relaxing?

Hello, I’m Harrie and I am delighted to offer you just that, in the form of Bowen Therapy.

Bowen Therapy is based on the belief that specific, gentle moves can influence the nervous system and fascia and thus the whole body, releasing stress at a deep level and setting the scene for the body to heal itself.  During treatment a series of small rolling moves is made over soft tissues (ie: muscles, ligaments, tendons, and connective tissue or fascia) in specific parts of the body – back, legs, shoulders, neck etc.

Although subtle, these moves can:

  • relieve tension in the body,
  • reduce anxiety and stress, and promote emotional and mental well-being,
  • aid good sleep,
  • alongside conventional medical care, help you manage or cope with a specific physical, mental or emotional symptoms,
  • help improve quality of life, alongside conventional medical care, for people living with certain chronic health conditions,
  • promote general good health, maintenance of overall body functioning, and a sense of well-being.

A Bowen session is calm and measured. There are no adjustments or forceful manipulation, and most people it to be a pleasant and deeply relaxing experience for both body and mind. As you relax, there is an invitation to release tension and stress.

Treatments are usually given while you are lying on a massage couch, although if that would be uncomfortable, it is possible to remain in a sitting position. Bowen can be done on the skin’s surface or through loose fabric, so you can remain fully clothed if you prefer.

I’m a member of the UK Bowen Professional Therapist Association (BPTA), which requires its members to be trained to the highest standards, and abide by their Code of Conduct & Ethics.
