Hi, I’m Jane, a person-centred therapist. I know that choosing a therapist can be a bit overwhelming, so I will try not to bombard you with too much information but will say a few things that might be helpful to you, so you might get a feel of how we could work together. I will start by saying that I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, and I work with all ages, including children and young people (11-18yrs)

I believe that helpful therapy starts from co-creating an authentic relationship, so I will bring my genuine self to our sessions. I will be your companion to sit through those uncomfortable feelings or conflicting thoughts. I also appreciate humour and how this can help with connection. Whatever you bring to therapy will be ok, there’s no “right” way to do therapy… we can work together to unravel what brought you to therapy in the first instance, even if that’s more of a “not knowing” why you feel like you do. Through our work together, we may find that there are deeper issues to explore that were not in your awareness, or familiar behavioural patterns that haven’t served you well in your life and that you may want to make some changes to. Or possibly some thoughts or feelings that have never yet been shared or acknowledged.

We can work at your pace and build a trusting relationship. I see clients weekly or fortnightly for short term or long term therapy. I also offer a discounted first (in-person) session to see if we are a good match. I know clients have really appreciated this to help them feel confident to commit to therapy.  In an on-line world, I do try to work in-person as much as possible, but this is a conversation we can have. I have worked with a huge range of different issues and presentations and invite you to ask me any questions about the possibility of working together.

Thanks for reading my profile.
