Something Worth Taking Seriously

Therapy, when it goes well, is one of the most significant relationships in a person’s life. Not because the therapist is exceptional, but because something in the quality of sustained, attentive presence, week after week, through difficulty and uncertainty, creates conditions for change that are hard to find elsewhere.

I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2009. Over that time, and through a great deal of my own personal and therapeutic work, my practice has settled into something I think of as a vocation rather than a profession. My training was integrative and transpersonal, and my work has deepened over the years into a Jungian psychoanalytic way of working. Relational, embodied, and genuinely interested in the unconscious dimensions of a person’s experience.

Going Deeper

I tend to work with people who sense that what troubles them has roots. Roots in early life, in family patterns that repeat across generations, in the gap between who they feel themselves to be and how they are actually living. This might show up as anxiety, depression, or relational difficulties; it might be a harder-to-name sense of disconnection or stuckness; it might be complex trauma that hasn’t shifted with shorter-term approaches.

I work long-term, meeting weekly to begin with. As trust develops, some people find it useful to meet more frequently, twice or three times a week, and the work that becomes possible at that depth and rhythm can be profoundly transformative. I draw on psychodynamic and Jungian frameworks, with a particular focus on developmental and intergenerational trauma, and I work in a way that is attuned to both the psychological and the somatic dimensions of experience.

Background

I have been in practice for over fifteen years and hold an MA in integrative and transpersonal psychotherapy (CCPE/University of Northampton), a Diploma in Supervision, and a Foundation in Group Analysis (IGA). I am UKCP registered and work with individuals and groups, online and in-person in central London. I also supervise qualified psychotherapists.
