I am a somatic therapist specialising in nervous system regulation and trauma release. I am curious about how we build resilience, and how we can move in the world with greater coherency in our system from the place of felt experience in the body.
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or disconnected from ourselves. We can understand our patterns, history and coping strategies, and yet our nervous system continues to respond as though we are still in danger. Somatic approaches  create awareness of how our depression, trauma, anxiety is experienced in the body, and offers ways to release our distress.

Somatic Experiencing: a body-up approach to addressing trauma. It increases interoception and builds resilience through the felt sense of resource in the body as well as creating conditions for protective patterns to soften so we can meet life with greater agency and connection.

Cranio-sacral therapy: accesses the nervous system directly through non-invasive hands-on contact. It supports the body to release physical and emotional tensions, allowing the system to reorganise itself and increasing the body’s capacity to restore and heal.

In our sessions we may move between modalities, depending on the needs of the client. I work intuitively to renegotiate the nervous system’s capacity for feeling difficult emotions so that past experiences can be processed and integrated. This is navigated with safety, compassion and curiosity and at a pace that is respectful to what is manageable for the body.

I have a background in mindfulness and nature-based practices, with a special interest in intergenerational trauma.
