I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be the foundation for gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves. I will work with you in a collaborative way; I can adapt and use different approaches as appropriate for your needs. What we talk about is wholly your decision, I won’t force you to discuss anything you don’t want to. I won’t be shocked by what you say, and I understand how difficult it can sometimes be to say it out loud.

I provide a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental space and a commitment to offer you my full attention, compassion and curiosity. I have particular experience and skills in working with relationships and attachment behaviour; loss and bereavement; issues from childhood, including sexual abuse, neglect and attachment.

I’ve learned a lot about how to support people living with chronic pain and health conditions; I can also help with more recent traumas and events of any kind, and the impacts associated with these, such as; anxiety, panic attacks, depression, nightmares, flashbacks, fear and avoidance.

As well as extensive experience as a therapist, I also have many years of experience managing therapeutic and wellbeing services across a variety of organisations, from community counselling services, NHS trusts and third-sector organisations, such as Terrence Higgins Trust, Diabetes UK and Save the Children. I am also currently employed as the Service Manager of Iron Mill Counselling Service in Exeter.

Online and/or telephone appointments are available.
