I believe we all feel ‘stuck’ sometimes, knowing we’re not living as fully as we’d like to but not sure where – or how – to start to make a change.  Feelings of anxiety, stress, unhappiness; feeling ‘boxed in’ or as though you have no control; feeling as though you have to say ‘yes’ to everything and everyone: these are just some of the many ways we might end up feeling ‘stuck’.  As a humanistic and integrative counsellor, I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space to explore with you what might be causing you distress or preventing positive change in your life.  I know it can be daunting taking the first step towards change so I offer an initial phone call to explore with you whether counselling is potentially what you feel you might be looking for.  I don’t charge for this.

As a humanistic and client-centred counsellor, I offer a safe, empathic space where we can explore, make new connections and discover new perspectives together, enabling you to enhance your life and live it more fully.  I also draw on other counselling approaches enabling you to better understand your past relationships and experiences, alongside present experiences, and perhaps coming to know yourself more deeply in the process too. For all of us, change and fresh potential grows from being in a secure, trusting and compassionate relationship.

I offer low-cost counselling to adults and I work in the voluntary sector as well as in private practice.  I’m  in my final year of training for the Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling with Bath Centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling.  I have experience helping people with relationship issues, anxiety, loss, panic attacks, bereavement, depression, issues of low confidence and/or low self-esteem, general unease or dissatisfaction with life.

I’m a registered trainee member of BACP. I hold a UKCP and BACP approved Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.  I have a background in secondary school education and a previous career as an English teacher and pastoral manager.  I have a BA (Hons) Degree in English Language & Literature and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

It can be daunting taking the first step towards positive change.  If you feel that counselling might be something you would like to try, do please email me in the first instance if you would like to get in touch.
