Hello, I’m Lorraine Willis, an Integrative Therapist working with children, young people and adults. I believe that every person deserves a space where they can be heard without judgement, understood with compassion, and supported to create meaningful and lasting change. Beginning therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you’ve spent years coping alone or putting the needs of others before your own. My aim is to offer a calm, collaborative relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore whatever has brought you to therapy.

As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to the individual rather than expecting one model to fit everyone. Drawing from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I work alongside you to understand your experiences, develop greater self-awareness and discover practical ways to move forward. I have a particular interest in attachment, developmental trauma and the impact that early relationships can have on how we experience ourselves and others throughout life. My work is grounded in the belief that our behaviours, emotions and coping strategies often make sense when viewed in the context of our life experiences. Rather than asking “What’s wrong with you?”, I prefer to explore “What has happened to you?” and “How has your nervous system learned to protect you?” This compassionate perspective can help reduce shame, increase self-understanding and create space for lasting healing.

I work with a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, life transitions and loss. Alongside traditional talking therapy, I may incorporate creative approaches, psychoeducation and practical strategies where appropriate, always adapting sessions to suit your individual needs and goals. My experience includes working therapeutically with children and young people within Barnardo’s, supporting clients from early childhood through to young adulthood. This has strengthened my understanding of child development, safeguarding, attachment and the unique challenges faced by young people today. Clients often describe my approach as warm, genuine and thoughtful. I value authenticity within the therapeutic relationship and believe that healing happens when we feel accepted exactly as we are. Whether you are seeking support through a specific difficulty or simply want to understand yourself more deeply, I will work alongside you at your own pace, respecting your individuality throughout the process.

Outside of the therapy room, I have a deep interest in neuroscience, attachment theory and trauma-informed practice and am committed to continually developing my knowledge through ongoing professional training and reflective practice. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone. I would be honoured to support you in taking the next step towards greater understanding, resilience and wellbeing.
