I am someone who has always had an intrinsic ability to feel deep compassion and a profound emotional connection to the needs of others. I am passionate, creative and authentic with a fire in my belly for equity and social justice.

My entire professional life has been dedicated to the growth and development of children and young people. With over 20 years experience as an Educational Psychologist within Derbyshire’s Educational Psychology Service — and a broader career in education spanning different parts of the UK — I bring both depth and breadth to my work. And I also know what it feels like to be on the other side of the table when professionals enter into your role as a parent. This experience opened my eyes to a gap in the system for parents and carers to have the space to grapple with the challenges their children are facing.

Parents are often expected to hold it all together, without being offered meaningful support themselves. It’s no wonder so many are feeling burnt out and completely overwhelmed. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with educators and families to help children overcome a wide range of barriers to learning and wellbeing — whether social, emotional, behavioural, cognitive, or environmental.

My approach is rooted in psychology, informed by evidence, and shaped by a deep belief in inclusion, compassion, and the potential of every child. I have supported schools and families with children and young people from birth to 24 years across a myriad of needs and presentations. I have also developed training in specialist areas of trauma, bereavement, and race awareness, to name a few.

At Envelop I offer support, guidance, and space to explore areas such as, but not restricted to, the following: Mental health and wellbeing Developmental trauma Loss, change and bereavement Neurodiversity Emotionally Based School Avoidance Situational mutism. The impact of social injustice due to e.g. gender, race, religion, ability, appearance, class, culture, ethnicity and sexuality Identity and belonging in the digital age Social, familial, peer and working relationships Understanding behaviour as communication Baby brain development Teenage brain and development Post-adoption Envelop is a space for parents, carers and anyone who holds responsibility for a child or young person.

With me, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss anything you wish, to find insight, understanding and ultimately a way forward for you and your loved ones.
