Paddy Vessey

Hi, I’m Paddy, and I am a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and a member of the Association for Family Therapy. I have a broad experience of working in a variety of of NHS settings such as paediatrics, child and adolescent mental health, and adult mental health.

I involve family members and important others in the system to build on strengths, make changes to improve relationships and behaviours, and understand each other’s perspective. I can see families and also see people on their own e.g. child or young person, sibling group, parents only, and grandparents.

Through using a systemic approach this can lead to improvements in communication, cohesion and flexibility within the family which can reduce symptoms of psychological distress, improving coping strategies and overall mental health.

I provide a safe, caring, and confidential space and like to work collaboratively, flexibly and creatively at your own pace.

Here are some of the areas I have worked in-
