Patrizia Vadala
Patrizia Vadalà is a warm, empathic, and relational counsellor and supervisor who values authenticity and trust as the foundations of the therapeutic relationship. She believes every person’s story is unique and deserving of deep respect, and offers a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore difficult feelings, relational patterns, and life challenges at their own pace. Patrizia works integratively, drawing from Gestalt therapy, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and trauma-informed approaches. Her style is experiential and embodied, often integrating mindfulness, breath awareness, and body-based techniques to help clients reconnect with themselves and find new ways to regulate anxiety, process emotions, and deepen self-awareness. She has extensive experience supporting clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, loss, low self-esteem, trauma, identity and belonging, as well as sex, gender, and sexuality. With a background in education, acting, and body movement, Patrizia is particularly attuned to the needs of people working in creative and helping professions, supporting them in reconnecting with their authenticity and creative flow. Alongside her clinical work, Patrizia is a qualified supervisor and an experienced tutor in counselling and psychotherapy training. She teaches Gestalt theory and humanistic counselling at diploma and certificate levels, and has worked for several years with The Gestalt Centre London, as well as other institutions. Her approach to supervision is collaborative, embodied, and relational, creating a space where vulnerability, curiosity, and growth can safely emerge. Patrizia runs a private practice in South West and Central London, offering both long-term open-ended therapy and short-term focused work. She works in English and Italian, with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and gender backgrounds, and places strong emphasis on the impact of culture and identity on emotional wellbeing. She is a fully qualified Gestalt Integrative Counsellor and Psycho-Pedagogic Body Movement Practitioner, a Registered Member of the BACP, and accredited with the CNCP (National Council for Professional Counsellors) in Italy. She continues to deepen her practice through ongoing professional development and has completed further trainings in Attachment and Trauma, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy).
