Polly Irvin
I am an IFS Therapist (Internal Family Systems) and a UKCP registered Integrative Arts Psychotherapist. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) I have been practising for 18 years in a range of settings including charities, hospitals, schools and private practice. I am now primarily working in Private Practice in Brighton and online. I offer a space for curiosity, creativity and reflection, supporting a developing sense of Self acknowledging the profound change that is possible when we deepen our understanding of ourselves and develop a relationship with all the different parts within us. In therapy you can become aware of unconscious material – parts of you that are are carrying burdens – either as a protective system or as pain, trauma and negative beliefs. When we come to fully understand our own systems we can begin let go of pain and stress and create a more spacious existence and a stronger sense of Self and Self Leadership.
I work creatively and relationally and aim to provide a safe environment for self-exploration and change. I am neurodivergent and developing my skills and knowledge in relation to this area.
I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor and Reflective Practitioner and Tutor in the Wellbeing Faculty at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. I am Co-Founder of Orange Collective an organisation that supports artists who engaging in Arts and Wellbeing Practices. I have a background in theatre as an actor and theatre director and was a senior lecturer at Rose Bruford College where I was the Programme Director for the Directing BA.
I have a passion for the power and potential of the active imagination in transformation.
