Qian Yang
Hello, I’m Qian. I’m a counsellor with an integrative background, and I have a particular interest in the experiences of women, immigrants, and diaspora communities. If you’re reading this, perhaps something has been weighing on your mind, and you’re looking for someone to talk to. Reaching out can be difficult, so even getting to this point is already a meaningful first step.
I am a BACP registered counsellor and work in a non-directive way, which means: – I trust that you have the power and ability to make the best decisions for yourself – I see myself as a companion on your journey, sometimes offering a gentle nudge based on my experience – I won’t give you specific advice but will support you in finding your own answers – I abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework, and our work is confidential.
Choosing a counsellor or psychotherapist can feel overwhelming. That’s why I, like many others, offer a free initial 20-minute session – to give you a sense of how we might work together and to answer any questions you may have. It’s okay to trust your gut feeling. Research shows that a strong, trusting relationship between client and counsellor is one of the most important factors in therapy. I hope you find someone who feels like the right fit for you–whether that’s me or someone else. If you are interested in an initial chat, feel free to email me at: qiancounselling@gmail.com. You can also learn more about me and my practice at: qianyang.co.uk.
