Roisin Whittington

Sometimes life can throw us off course – leaving us stuck, confused, or unsure about how to proceed. Or perhaps that sense has been there for as long as you can remember.

In an increasingly polarised world, it can feel difficult to express yourself authentically or experience a sense of belonging. A non-judgemental space that honours your complexity and unique struggles can help you begin to find your way home.

Whether you’re facing a specific challenge, seeking deeper healing, or simply needing space to reflect on the stresses of being human, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I honour the courage it takes to invite another into your world and am committed to helping you find your own way forward.

As a relational psychotherapeutic counsellor, I believe the relationship between us is an integral part of the process, capable of offering insight and transformation. My work is grounded in a rich theoretical framework, allowing me to tailor my approach to your specific needs.

I’ve supported clients from many backgrounds, with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, childhood neglect, depression, low self-esteem, suicidality, and trauma. Some trauma, such as sexual violence, is often best supported by specialist services and is not a focus of my current practice.

I particularly value work around inner criticism and helping people to gently loosen the hold shame may have on them. Together, we might explore how these internal voices formed and begin to soften them with compassion and understanding.

I understand how important it is to feel safe and trust that you won’t be judged for what you share. I also appreciate this may take time to develop. My aim is to foster a space where all parts of you feel welcome – the light, the dark, and everything in between.

If you’d like to explore counselling with me, do get in touch. We can then arrange a free 20-minute phone call to see if I’m well placed to support you at this time.
