Counselling – Adult/Child and Adolescent Therapy
I am a qualified, experienced therapist specialising in child (10+) and adolescent therapy (as well as adults); neurodivergent people, both young and old; bereavement and complex loss. But I also work with many other issues and challenges that people bring to therapy.
If you are struggling with the challenges of life or feeling overwhelmed by difficult emotions, talking things through with an empathic, non-judgemental therapist can be immensely healing. I provide a confidential, safe space to help you process and work through whatever difficulties you face. Offering feedback, different counselling techniques and tools (where appropriate), I can help you find your own way forward.
I am an integrative Counsellor. Having qualified first as a Person-Centred Counsellor, I then went on to train in lots of other areas, so I can adapt therapy depending on your individual needs. I am also a trained, experienced and registered Neuro-affirming therapist. Having worked with many Neurodivergent people with Autism, ADHD and HSP, I help them cope with all the effects this has on their lives and the difficulties living in a world geared towards Neurotypical people has.
Working with Children and young people is also a very important part of my practice and I am trained to an advanced level.
Another specialist area I work in is bereavement, having trained and worked at the Martlets for several years.
Some of the other issues I can offer support in include trauma, I gained a certificate in Somatic Trauma Therapy and addiction, using my training in Solution-Focused Therapy, plus many other common but difficult challenges of life.
The most important part of therapy is the relationship of trust built between the therapist and client. Therefore it’s really important to have an initial meeting to see if you feel I am the right person to work with.
I offer a free telephone call. Then a half an hour initial session charged at £20.
Then if you’d like to go ahead with weekly sessions I charge £60 for a 50 minute session.
