Vanessa Stockley
My approach is warm, open, and collaborative. I aim to offer a space where I hope you can truly be yourself, a space where you are free to explore both what’s working and what’s not working in your life, without fear of judgment. We all carry stories, patterns, and parts of ourselves that we’ve learned to hide, often out of shame or fear.
In our work together, my hope is that these parts will begin to feel seen, accepted, and integrated, allowing you to move toward a life that feels fuller, freer, and more aligned with who you really are. Through this process, many people find they begin to build more authentic relationships, reduce internal barriers, and live with a more openhearted and compassionate outlook, toward themselves and others. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply curious about your next steps, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll begin with an initial conversation to get to know each other, and give you a chance to see whether you feel I’m someone you’d like to work with.
A little more about me; before training as a counsellor, I worked in documentary filmmaking, directing films for BBC and Channel 4. I’ve always been drawn to stories about people, taking the time to understand who they are and what shapes them. So, in many ways the move to therapy feels like a very natural progression.
I’m a trainee counsellor in the final stages of an Integrative Counselling diploma at the BCPC, I have clinical experience working with adults and I’m currently offering sessions at a reduced rate of £30 per hour as I complete my qualification. I’m a registered student member of the BACP and work in line with their ethical framework to ensure safe and ethical practice.
