Verity Allan
Hi, I’m Verity. I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw on different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. At the heart of my work is the relationship we build together. I believe that when you feel safe, accepted and truly heard, it becomes easier to understand yourself, make sense of your experiences and move towards the changes you’re looking for.
Life can sometimes feel like a tangled knot that’s difficult to unravel on your own. Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, struggling in your relationships, grieving, or simply not feeling like yourself, you don’t have to make sense of it all alone. Together, we’ll gently untangle what’s been weighing on you and find a way forward that feels right for you. We’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable, with you leading the way, because you’re the expert in your own life.
Alongside talking, I also enjoy working creatively when it feels right for you. Sometimes words aren’t enough, so we might use imagery, metaphor, drawing, writing or other creative techniques to explore your thoughts and feelings in a different way. There’s never any expectation to work creatively–it’s simply another option if it feels helpful.
Clients often describe me as warm, genuine and down-to-earth. I bring honesty, compassion and a little humour into the therapy room, creating a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgement. I am LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence-affirming, and as someone with lived experience in both communities, I understand how valuable it is to feel accepted and understood.
I offer therapy online and face-to-face in Sheffield, along with a free 20-minute introductory call so we can see whether we’re the right fit.
Online and/or telephone appointments are available.
