As a mindful and ethical organisation, our presence on social media is something we are continually evaluating and evolving.
We believe this is something any business that shares content on these platforms should do; and for an organisation which is serious about wellbeing and takes a holistic approach to both physical and mental health, it is imperative.
We are under no illusions that social media plays a large part in the declining mental health of young people, and, indeed, most adults.
We are deeply conscious of not adding to the noise, nor contributing to the problem.
And we are extremely mindful of failings and pitfalls of the social platforms on which we operate.
But in turn, we are also very cognisant of social media’s possibilities and opportunities, when used in the right way.
In the community found online - that reaches far beyond the limits of geography or social construct - it is possible to join a larger collective voice, and become part of an intentional chorus for good; offering a holistic way to view our health and wellbeing.
And we have a wealth of knowledge and experience at our disposal, represented by our team and our wider community of over 1500 therapists across the UK.
In tapping into this extraordinarily rich resource, we can share a vision of physical and mental health that is holistic, compassionate and varied.
Our ethos has always been about being here for a larger goal, to create space, both physically and metaphorically, for wellbeing.
The way we approach our social media is as much a part of this vision as our rooms and our therapists. ?
Our goal in every word or image shared is education and awareness, without doing damage.
We are mindful, intentional and self-reflective in our presence on these platforms.
Our message should resonate, inspire, comfort, reassure, challenge, and inform. And we send each post out with that intention behind it.
We do not ‘sell’, we ‘show’.
We continue daily to consider the impact of our presence in these spaces, and ensure that we have integrity and balance in everything we share. ? We review and reflect on our social media on a monthly basis.
We do not show like counts on both our posts, and those of our followers.
