We believe that supporting aligned initiatives is part of the field and responsibility of any community oriented organisation, particularly one that holds a “win/win” business model as a central element in its philosophy. This page lists organisations and initiatives we are currently supporting and partnering with.
If you have any thoughts and ideas about local aligned initiatives, particularly subsidised counselling, we would be happy to consider your suggestions. Please email sarah@thepracticerooms.co.uk.
A rapidly growing new method for looking at personal and family problems, Family Constellations offer real possibilities for healing and transformation. The process is unlike any other form of therapy, in that we are trying to bring to light the unconscious events, often in previous generations of our family, that may have contributed to the current difficulties. Hopefully they can then be laid to rest, so we can move forward with greater choice and freedom in how we lead our lives.
The Practice Rooms supports this organisation by funding to support bursary schemes within the training.
NAOS (Nurturing Attachment Others and Self) is an Inter-cultural therapy service that has expertise in working with and supporting children and young people who have experienced significant and complex trauma and multiple childhood adversities. They do this by offering a range of diverse therapy and wrap-round therapeutic services.
NAOS make therapy accessible by using creative and integrative alternative therapeutic models, methods and approaches that they have trialed and are proven as being successful at reaching some of the most hard to reach and disadvantaged communities and individuals. NAOS supports people at critical moments in their lives with a person centered approach being at their core. They understand that many of the clients they work with struggle to access traditional forms of therapy therefore provide a range of the therapies from counseling, psychotherapy, art, dance and drama psychotherapy, play therapy, hip hop therapy and boxing therapy as well as outreach therapy and therapeutic keyworking meeting the client ‘where they’re at’ on multiple levels. Their aim is to make therapy accessible to all.
The Practice Rooms donates monthly to NAOS to support this valuable service.
Trauma Foundation South West provides free professional psychotherapy to highly traumatised refugees and asylum seekers. Many have lost, not only their loved ones, but also their country and culture. They were traumatised in their home countries, during very difficult journeys to the UK and in the asylum process once they are here. This is very expensive to provide, particularly as half our clients need interpreters for the work. We are very grateful indeed for the Practice Rooms for supporting our work so generously.
