I am a friendly, empathic, warm natured and down to earth practitioner. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced adverse health experiences and where there are strong body-mind links. I also specialise in working with people who have experienced traumatic events, that have caused symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
I use a range of evidence-based psychological therapies, the main approaches I use currently are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Systemic Therapy (Family therapy). I always aim to individualise therapy to individual clients' needs using a collaborative and compassionate approach.
I have seventeen years of experience working in NHS services, working across the lifespan. Throughout my career, I have worked across all age ranges and have worked with people with a range of mental health experiences (including diagnoses of psychosis, anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, attachment difficulties) and health conditions (such as neurological disorders, autoimmune disorders, traumatic brain injuries, myeloma's and functional neurological disorders).
