Changing Seasons Counselling was founded by Beverley Price, a highly experienced Counselling Practitioner who feels privileged to work with people of all ages and from all walks of life. She has worked with clients for 20+ years and is trained to work with individuals, couples, families and children & young people, and offers 3 practice locations in West Yorkshire.
She offers a warm, understanding, supportive yet challenging approach to her clinical work, to effect meaningful change enabling her clients to build better relationships with the people around them.
As part of her ongoing professional development, Beverley has attended detailed training for Counsellors working with neuro-diverse clients, through AAC (Aspire Autism Consultancy). She also belongs to a Yorkshire regional network of therapists which offers clinical group supervision and autism-focused discussion topics, which gives the opportunity to develop her knowledge and skills for working with neuro-diverse clients.
If you are a parent or an individual wondering whether you are on the autistic spectrum, Beverley can help you to consider whether a formal diagnosis will be beneficial to you. As a Counselling Practitioner, she is not able to diagnose ADHD but she will work with the knowledge and experience she has to help you identify how feelings and behaviours impact upon your daily life and your relationships. Together, you will work towards your hopes and aspirations, gaining better management of your life and setting new goals.
The pressures of children, finance, work etc, can feel difficult to manage at times, causing arguments and communication difficulties. Deciding to stay together needs work and commitment, and coming to therapy can help you to explore each other's expectations, what needs to change and whether you each feel hopeful enough to find ways to re-build your relationship.
Families have become increasingly complex, driven by huge social changes including blended families, gender role changes, isolation from the wider family and divorce. Relationships can be fragile and when the bonds begin to break, counselling can help families to find ways to understand and communicate with each other again.
Over many years Beverley has had the opportunity of working with children age 5 and upwards, and as a result of counselling, has seen positive changes in their self-esteem, confidence and self-development (particularly in children who ordinarily find it difficult to express themselves). She firmly believes that with help, people can manage and cope with what is put in their way. Through counselling Beverley is here to help you understand yourself better and make more sense of things, so you feel stronger to be able to accept the challenges you are facing.
"I feel privileged and rewarded to have worked with so many amazing people who have come to me for help to reach their full potential and enjoy a happier life." (Beverley Price)
