At times our lives involve suffering, and it can be difficult to find the words which really convey our experiences to others. We may feel that there is nobody to listen to us, or we may feel that nobody really sees or understands us, and what we are experiencing. As a trainee in Core Process Psychotherapy, I use a mindfulness-based approach to support our work together. I work with the understanding that awareness, itself, is healing, and when we bring awareness to our thoughts, feelings, and embodied experiences, we may discover that there is wisdom, freedom and joy there. Together we can gently explore what troubles you, as well as the things that bring you joy and make you feel restored. I aim to provide a safe space where you can share what's going on for you in your life. In a joint process of enquiry, we may become aware of certain feelings, beliefs and patterns which could be causing you pain and suffering. I believe that by tending to these areas compassionately, together, we will find that a softening, an ease, and a sense of wellness is within reach. Perhaps you find it difficult or unacceptable to speak about your feelings, or perhaps you are confused or overwhelmed by people, situations, or relationships. I aim to help you to slow down and rediscover your own version of things, to draw meaning from the things that have happened to you, and to notice how you've experienced events and people in your life, whether recently or in your younger years. I am interested in empowering individuals to discover their own resources of health, peace, joy and general wellbeing. I listen with a non-judging, open-hearted approach, and can help to untangle difficulties you may be experiencing in your personal, professional and family relationships. I am currently completing my training in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute. I am registered as a psychotherapy trainee with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), as well as the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP). Sessions are an hour long, and take place weekly, at a cost of £40 per hour. I offer a free intro session of 30 minutes to see if my approach works for you and whether we would like to go ahead with working together.
