I am an experienced BACP-Accredited and registered counsellor/psychotherapist working with adults and young people aged 11 and above in central Norwich. I offer a safe and non-judgemental confidential space in which you are able to work through whatever is concerning you. In day-to-day life it can be rare to have the experience of really being listened to. With the right therapist, counselling can provide this in a way that is transformative. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the major factors in successful therapy and I take a warm, supportive, sensitive and empathic approach that puts you at the heart of my work.
In our first session, we will explore what you are looking for from therapy and how we can best work towards this together. It’s really important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with. After your first session, I would encourage you to take some time to think about whether I am the right therapist for you.
I am able to offer shorter or longer-term work depending on your needs. People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons, and whatever you wish to talk about I will work with you to support you in finding the right way forward for you.
I am an accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). BACP accreditation is awarded through an in-depth application and assessment process and as a minimum requires that practitioners have been in supervised practice for at least three years. I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I have over 10 years of clinical experience and I work in the medical profession alongside my private practice. My previous work at local charities has included:
I have over 8 years experience working with young people and have considerable experience of working with those who have experienced abuse. I've provided training to mental health professionals and to counselling students.
I'm passionate about continuing to deepen my skills, understanding and personal development. Short courses I've completed since qualifying include the following areas: trauma, abuse, working with families, using creative arts in therapy, mindfulness, resilience, safeguarding, and child protection.
