I offer short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to people of all ages, and many different backgrounds, who come to explore a range of difficulties in their lives.
I let my clients choose the pace and direction of the work; my job is not to offer solutions or even advice. Compassionate and non-judgemental listening and responding are part of the process, but sometimes we will focus on something specific which you would like to change.
My approach is integrative and relational, developing from psychodynamic, humanistic and developmental theories, as well as from current research in psychology and neuro-science. This approach enables me to offer clients a therapeutic relationship that is based on their specific needs and personality.
My training at the Karuna Institute in Devon was mindfulness-based, encouraging the practice of mindfulness-in-relationship as a vital part of the healing process. Mindfulness and meditation play an important role in my own life, providing a stable connection to well-being and inner strength.
I also offer clinical supervision to individuals and groups working in the helping professions.
