Core Process Psychotherapy is a therapeutic practice that combines the wisdom of Buddhist and Western psychology.
I offer deep supportive listening and reflection into the issues that are affecting you. Using moment-to-moment mindful and embodied awareness I gently and respectfully support you in moving towards your own innate well-being.
Issues that clients may bring to therapy are wide ranging and include: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, life-changes, lack of meaning, low-self esteem, grief and feelings of intense loneliness.
Buddhist psychology offers insight into how and why we suffer and how we might reduce suffering.
Core Process Psychotherapy integrates this ancient Buddhist wisdom into an embodied human-centred therapeutic practice. The therapist and client share a joint enquiry into what might be obstructing the innate wisdom that we all share.
The therapeutic process is shared in an environment of safe, attentive and respectful listening. Here we can start paying attention to the patterns of thought, stories and imprints that exist below our everyday awareness.
The sessions are an opportunity for you to be seen, heard and deeply supported.
Mindful awareness can gently build the capacity to allow kind attention into the areas of our being that we might habitually turn away from or even treat unkindly.
The inherent health that exists at the core of our being can then be reclaimed and qualities such us joy, ease and freedom become more available to us.
I am a fully qualified and accredited with UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a Core Process Psychotherapist. I am also a member of The Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP).
My long standing meditation practice and personal enquiry creates a sound foundation for my work as a therapist.

I did not have a traditional education. Having left school with no recognisable qualifications I became an autodidact. Later as a mature student I gained a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature and went on to postgraduate study that led to an MSc in Information Management.
My working life has included experience in a range of different sectors including engineering, the civil service, small businesses, therapeutic communities, the international voluntary sector and alternative communities.
I find joy in the simple pleasures of singing, gardening, study, reading, making bread and chopping wood.
The joys and struggles of raising a family and periods of illness have taught me the value of inner work. In my healing journey I found a home in Buddhist meditation and a connection to a deeper healing and mystery. This process led me to the Karuna Institute where the wisdom of Buddhist and Western psychology is integrated into a programme of psychotherapeutic study at Masters degree level.
