As an Integrative Humanistic therapist , I offer a confidential, non-judgemental, accepting space for you to explore difficult, conflicting, overwhelming feelings, sensations, or thoughts. I work holistically and creatively with a collaborative, relational approach to walk alongside you, at your own pace.
My approach: I believe each of us to be unique individuals with the potential and ability to heal from the inside and I will support you in seeking those inner strengths that lead to self-empowerment in making choices and possible changes in your life. Life events and life stages such as accidents, loss and bereavement, time limiting illness, childbearing and aging, chronic ill health and issues around disability and relational difficulties can bring pain, confusion and disruption; here we can build an environment in which to untangle and be curious about how your emotions and moods are impacting your life.
My counselling experience, training and practice with adolescents, women and men, include life-limiting illness, bereavement, loss, anxiety and depression, chronic ill health, menopause and trauma-informed counselling. I have worked with survivors of child and adult sexual violence, as well as domestic and institutional abuse. Abuse may be experienced as psychological, emotional, physical, sexual or financial inequality of any sort.
I hold a BA Hons Humanistic Counselling First Class from the University of Chichester. Background: I have a background in nursing, pastoral care, hospice care, and spiritual support which informs my way of being. I have worked as a counsellor at Age UK Brighton & Hove, Sussex Community Counselling (low-cost counselling) in Lewes, with clients experiencing domestic abuse at RISE and sexual abuse at Survivors' Network.
Professional assurance: My practice adheres to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework. I am a Registered Member of the BACP, have regular clinical supervision and personal therapy, along with continual additional training as part of my personal and professional development. I hold indemnity insurance and Enhanced DBS check for working with children and adults. Please call or email me to ask any questions you may have. Fees: Initial call or email is free of charge. £25 introductory session. £55 subsequent sessions, 10% of your fee goes towards supporting Survivors of abuse and Foodbank clients.
