Every client is unique and there is no one size fits all approach to psychotherapy. I work together with my clients to ensure that the therapy develops at a pace and style that suits their individual needs. I am focused on developing an open and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients, in order to support growth and change, as appropriate.
I am an attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in my latter years of training at The Bowlby Centre, a UKCP accredited institution. I have experience in helping people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. I have worked with clients who have come to therapy with a variety of issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, discrimination, difficult life decisions and feeling in a state of crisis.
My approach to psychotherapy is underpinned by an attachment-based psychoanalytic framework. Attachment theory focuses on the long-lasting impact of our earliest relationships with our childhood caregivers, such as our parents. It emphasises the importance those early relationships in enabling us to grow and develop a healthy sense of self, and the issues that arise when these relationships are insufficiently secure and supportive. Attachment therapy is therefore based on a co-created relationship between therapist and client. As a therapist, I am committed to supporting you on this journey, with a view to helping you feel stronger, happier and more in control.
