Having studied Philosophy as an undergraduate, I’m drawn to a philosophical and existential appreciation of the nature of our Being and how some of the ideas found there, connect with relational psychoanalytic approaches to our understanding of self, others, and the world.
I am a Psychotherapist, Supervisor, & Group Analyst in Training with many years’ experience working as a Psychotherapist in mental health services in the NHS, and in drug rehabilitation services in West London. I was lead for the Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Service in Somerset NHS Trust, before moving to Devon to take up work as a Psychotherapist in a Specialist Therapeutic Community within the Personality Disorder Service. I worked there for 10 years, and then as Professional Lead at The Haldon Specialist Eating Disorder Service.
In my private practice I offer both short and long-term psychotherapy, as well as CAT training therapies. I am also available for supervision (UKCP Registered) and consultation. My clinical experience and interests include treatment for personality disorders; complex trauma and dissociative processes; eating disorders; OCD; anxiety and depression. I am currently undertaking further training as a Group Analyst and am in year 3 of a 4-year training with the IGA.
I bring together ideas from CAT, Object Relations, Relational Psychoanalysis, and Group Analysis to inform my practice and understanding of psychotherapy.
I have been a Course Co-Director for Somerset CAT Practitioner Training and am a regular visiting trainer on CAT Practitioner Trainings in London and Cornwall. I teach on Exeter University’s DClinPsych. I was Chair of ACAT from 2020 to 2023 and remain a Trustee. I have experience of offering reflective practice to Teams within the NHS and provide Reflective Practice on the DClinPsych course in Exeter.
