ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE
‘Posture Training for Performance Gains’
I have taught the Alexander Technique for over twenty years, currently in Devon and The Cotswolds at ‘The Practice Rooms’ in Exeter.
Throughout our lives we tend to respond to situations by grip-ping our muscles. This gripping mostly goes unnoticed and gradually becomes habitual. These postural habits create pressure in the body, which, at best, can lead to poor co-ordination and at worst can cause stress, pain and even structural dam-age.
The aim of the Alexander Technique is to help people identify their postural habits and eliminate the muscular pressure.
People learn the technique for a huge number of diverse reasons. Lessons can ‘free up’ breathing, circulation and digestion; they can help with stress-related conditions; they can help a person improve skills, posture and general well-being. Studies have shown that lessons can cure back pain and neck pain.
The technique is a very relaxing, practical and thorough way of solving problems. I have taught people from all walks of life and I absolutely love it!
I do offer taster lessons, so contact me to find out more :)
