You might be consumed by thoughts that prevent you from engaging in everyday life, finding yourself in the same cycle of fear, anxiety, shame, depression, and isolation. Whatever your story might be, I give you a safe, welcoming, strictly confidential space to share, explore, and evolve, creating an environment where you can feel safe and SEE the transformation you need to make.
I know that reaching out is hard, but taking that first step is the bravest thing you can do, and I am here to support you the whole way.
I initially started out as a probation officer, running particular tasks designed to help offenders change their mindset. I noticed that I wasn't really understanding them as well as I could. They would talk about their traumatic pasts, and I wasn't equipped to deal with it. To understand their background and provide effective help, I needed to develop counselling skills, which took me on a journey of self-discovery.
Along with gaining all the relevant qualifications, I learned so much about myself: how the male-dominated culture in which I grew up impacted my ability to voice my needs, the way I valued myself as a person, how I related to other people. I suddenly saw all these limiting beliefs I had about myself. It wasn't always easy to uncover these unpleasant memories from my past, but I came out of the process so much stronger, and my main goal now is to help all people – not just those from a South Asian background – embark on the same journey towards self-actualisation.
My counselling focuses on patterns of relating – forming a therapeutic relationship with you that is authentic, ethical, safe, non-judgemental, and based on trust.
Establishing a strong bond is not just so you feel safe; the way we communicate together and how you relate to me acts as a key route towards understanding your wider interpersonal struggles and the impact they have on your mental health.
Looking at these attachment dynamics allows us look at your inner child, your real needs, and brings you closer to being the person you really are.
